The abdominal abs are probably one of the most misunderstood muscle groups in the body. Many people believe that there is something special about them, that different rules apply. The bottom line is, all muscles work roughly the same way.
The composition of muscle tissue doesn’t change based on where it is in the body; it doesn’t gain a new purpose if you put it in a different place. This considered, why would different muscles react to the same stimulus in a different way?
Abdominal abs are subject to the same principles of muscle building that apply to the rest of your muscles. Treat them the same way. They need to be broken down under sufficient stress, and they need proper fuel and rest time.
Do not work the abdominal abs daily.
The only reason I can conceive that people would is because most don’t know how to work them correctly. The muscles become sore when they are broken down. If you aren’t getting sore from your abdominal abs exercise, you’re not working them fully enough to merit seeing results.
It doesn’t matter if you want a ripped midsection, a stronger core, or just firm abs, the breakdown is the same. The purpose of stomach exercise is to break the muscles down. That stimulus creates a demand on the body to adapt. They will grow back stronger if, and only if, you give them the right nutrition and rest.

3 Stars same clips as her “Ultimate Body” dvd
I bought this because I have her workout dvd, “Ultimate Body” and LOVE it. However, this dvd had the exact same clips, not just the same moves, the same clips (just less of them). I highly recommend Meghan White’s “Ultimate Body” dvd instead for these moves, plus arm, leg, and cardio exercise routines.
4 Stars Great Ab workout!
I don’t usually leave reviews for products – but this DVD is pretty good! I’ve been doing it for a month and my abs are def. looking better! The instructor (who is fairly annoying) does beginner/challenging – and the challenging is DEF. the route to go! Overall, it’s good and focuses soley on abs – and the workouts are all only 8 or 9 minutes! Good DVD!
5 Stars Perfect Abs Hits the Spot!
Work outs are broken up into 8-9 minute sections which is great if you want to get in some ab work but are short on time. I like this on days I don’t do a cardio workout. I also like to use this DVD in addition to weight training. The workouts really do “hit the spot”, you can definitely feel your muscles responding. I highly recommend!
5 Stars Excellant Ab Workouts
This DVD has 8 short and effective ab routines with a nice variety of workouts. Some traditional and then additions like scissor kicks and other means to get all of your abs.
I have definately noticed an improvement using this a few times a week, and they are easy to fit in. 6-8 minutes or so. Three easier routines which I started using and are good. Three more that are tougher then two other routines using weights and balls.
Good DVD to throw into the exercise mix when you want something short that gets the job done.
3 Stars not as tough as it could be
This workout doesn’t quite push you as hard as it could. It shows that anyone can make a workout video, but few people have the talent to help motivate you. The trainer counts nicely …. but there is no “interaction” with the audience. If I had my choice, I would take an ab workout from Tamilee Webb any day.
Compatible with Slendertone’s Flex Abdominal, Gymbody, and System Abs toning belts, this set of replacement gel pads will help you get the most of your Slendertone product. The length of time gel pads last depends on a number of factors, including your skin type, frequency of use, and how the pads are stored (Slendertone recommends that you replace your pads after 20 to 30 sessions). Fortunately, these replacement pads are a breeze to use, with a latex-free, no-mess design that helps conduct electrical pulses to targeted nerves and muscles. All Slendertone replacement pads and accessories are manufactured to medical-grade and FDA-approved standards and are suitable for both men and women. The set comes in three groups of three pads each, for a total of nine pads.

3 Stars Replacement Pad Pricing & Where To Buy Them
I have not started using my belt yet but instead was just looking at purchasing replacements ahead of time. I noticed that on Amazon the 9 pad refill is $10 cheaper then the Slendertone website but you still have to ad shipping on the Amazon order because it’s 5 cents away from qualifying for the free shipping. If you order 18 pads then you certainly qualify for free shipping with a total of $49.90. But if you order 18 pads from Slendertone the price is only 9 cents more $49.99 with free shipping as well.
Speaking for myself, I would rather by the product from the original creator instead of Amazon if the price is only 9 cents difference for 18 pads.
Can’t wait to start using this to see how it works and will be back for a product review in a few weeks.
5 Stars Better deal that any other place and for original replacements, not a generic!
I looked high and low for this product in a conventional store. When I found them, they were $17.95 each! Image how pleased I was to receive three sets for $24.99! Delivered promptly, I couldn’t ask for anything else!
1 Star Returned
The slendertone did not work right out of the box so I had to return these too.
3 Stars Good for the Price
I bought these pads because they were a good deal and I didn’t want to order pads again as quickly. However, these pads seem to not stick as well to the belt as my old pads and my old pads provided a more comfortable buffer from the shock but overall the pads are manageable as long as you are careful when removing your belt and start at a lower intensity level.
5 Stars Slendertone Replacement Gel Pads
I have had my Slendertone Abdominal Belt for approximately five years. This is the first time I replaced the gel pads. The pads hold up great and are reasonably priced.

Everyone wants a six pack these days, and that’s understandable. It is a symbol of power and sex appeal, but are you willing to sweat to achieve that goal?If you are, I’ll give you a six pack workout that will peel away that obtrusive fat and carve out muscles of iron across your midsection.
Before we begin, I’m going to give you some tips that can increase the efficiency of your workout by over 300% (actually, I have no idea about the metrics, but it makes a huge difference and numbers give credibility…just do it).The best six pack workouts are done at anaerobic threshold. Your heart should be pounding out of your chest and you should be gasping for air, but push yourself as hard as you can for as long as you can.Take very short breaks and get right back to it.This strips away fat, as it is high-intensity work, and after any anaerobic work there is Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC), which causes a metabolic bump or what I like to call an afterburn. This sort of exercise also helps create a more anabolic environment. In time it will make it so you can workout for longer periods of time at the same intensity. If you’re interested in the jargon it is also called an increase in the intramuscular buffering capacity. This six pack workout is done in the same style as sprinting-you go all until you need to stop, take a short rest, and then do it again.
Do each exercise and immediately go to the next.Your aim is for about 20 reps (or however many you can do in one set) of each exercise before moving on and 3 revolutions of the entire workout. The only weighted exercise will be for the abs as that’s the only place you’re looking to build muscle, the rest are chosen for no reason other than that they are highly metabolically demanding. Do everything explosively on the concentric phase and take at least twice as long on the eccentric phase. Feel free to substitute, add, or rearrange exercises if you feel they work better for you.Enjoy.
Pushups [for advanced variation, push off the floor and clap before you land(don’t lock elbows for landing)]
Mountain-Climbers
Burpees
Dragonflies (if you can’t do these, don’t feel bad, they are insane)
Weighted Crunches (weight on chest or behind head)
Airbikes
Lying Side Oblique Crunches
Pull-ups (You wouldn’t hate me if I didn’t throw these in)
Shoulder Pushups
Prisoner Squats
If you’re looking for a six pack workout more tailored to you, our friends over at Truth About Abs will take good care of you.
