The abdominal abs are probably one of the most misunderstood muscle groups in the body. Many people believe that there is something special about them, that different rules apply. The bottom line is, all muscles work roughly the same way.

The composition of muscle tissue doesn’t change based on where it is in the body; it doesn’t gain a new purpose if you put it in a different place. This considered, why would different muscles react to the same stimulus in a different way?

Abdominal abs are subject to the same principles of muscle building that apply to the rest of your muscles. Treat them the same way. They need to be broken down under sufficient stress, and they need proper fuel and rest time.

Do not work the abdominal abs daily.

The only reason I can conceive that people would is because most don’t know how to work them correctly. The muscles become sore when they are broken down. If you aren’t getting sore from your abdominal abs exercise, you’re not working them fully enough to merit seeing results.

It doesn’t matter if you want a ripped midsection, a stronger core, or just firm abs, the breakdown is the same. The purpose of stomach exercise is to break the muscles down. That stimulus creates a demand on the body to adapt. They will grow back stronger if, and only if, you give them the right nutrition and rest.

If you’re ready to bust open the many myths on abdominal abs, I’d recommend visit our friends at Truth About Abs.

Sometimes you’ll do everything right the previous day and still gain weight. When you notice that, it enforces a false idea that what you were doing was the wrong way to achieve your goal and you are less motivated the following day. It becomes a downward spiral until you eventually give up and do nothing at all.

In general, you’ll find you’re actually wasting time and energy measuring your weight more than once a week. This, I believe, is the smallest unit of measurement you can use and get accurate feedback.

On the other side you have the axiom, “out of sight, out of mind.” If you don’t get relatively regular feedback, you could spend too long doing the wrong things or, even worse, forget about the goal you were after altogether.

The next point to address is what you’re measuring. Another part of how to get a six pack fast is knowing you’re heading in the right direction, but you shouldn’t be falsely rewarded either. You may lose weight and be worse off than before if that weight lost was muscle. The only number you should concern yourself with is your body fat percentage.

Spot reducing can’t be done, so in order to see your abs you must have the correct overall ratio. You could also measure inches, but that’s subjective. If you do that, you’ll be able to measure your progress, but not how far you are from your goal. For most cases you’ll be able to see solid abs if you have a low body fat percentage, but I’ve heard of no rule of thumb when it comes to waist measurement. Even if I did, it’d probably be relative to your other measurements and end up being overly complex.

How to get a six pack fast, the condensed version, is to make changes in your diet/exercise, accurately measure those changes, and adapt to what the results tell you.

There comes a time in every man’s life… where he needs to ramp up his six pack workout. Not really, but it’s important to continue seeing results. I’ve given a complete workout plan in the past for the newbies, but there are some that already have a plan they’re used to. I respect that, so I’ve come up with ways you can enhance the effects of your existing six pack workout without having to start from scratch.

Add more weight. This is easy to do without any machines. You probably have something relatively dense in your household. Grab it and hold it behind your head, put it on your chest, or hold it between your feet (for reverse crunches and the like).

Drop rest time. Sometimes you’ll feel exhausted during your six pack workout, but push through it and don’t rest for too long between sets. You’ll build more muscle resting in a semi-fatigued state and burn more calories as well.

Do the same exercises…on a decline! This adds more resistance as you’re fighting gravity. It’s not that hard to find a hill, just make sure you have a way to keep your feet down, partners help. If you have a way to do your six pack workout upside down you’ll have amazing results, just make sure you can get down before you pass out from the blood-rush to your head.

Get a workout buddy! A little friendly competition keeps you from wussing out too much. There are also some really fun exercises you can’t do without a partner.

Never completely relax your abs during a set. You increase the time under tension and odds are you’ll be thinking about your form more.

You’re either growing or dying, so always be looking for a way to take your game to the next level. If you’re going to start any program, commit to it or one day you may fall into the land of the beer-bellied. I know I’d rather feel confident and strong. When you’re looking to take your game up a notch, you’re going to want to check out this six pack workout program. They’ve helped many others so I can’t recommend them enough. Good luck in your journey to new heights of personal fitness.

Whether you’re a casual exerciser, a senior, a fitness enthusiast, or someone facing physical challenges, The Slendertone Flex Abdominal Toning Belt for Women can help you build a stronger core foundation, add variety to your workouts, or enhance your training regimen. The Slendertone Flex system includes the belt, controller with four programs, three AAA batteries, three GelPads, travel pouch, and instruction manual. This belt fits waist sizes 22 to 44 inches.

Slendertone uses clinically proven, patent-pending C.S.I. (Concentrated Slendertone Innervation) technology to firm, tone and strengthen your entire midsection with patented medical-grade muscle stimulation technology. The unique construction of the Slendertone Flex features three pre-positioned, medical-grade GelPads, covering the central abdominal muscles and external obliques. Signals from the belt reach out to nerves where they are most concentrated. These nerves branch out to reach all the abdominal muscles (not just those under the pads) causing them to relax and contract naturally, exercising all the muscles at the same time.

Used regularly (as little as 30 minutes a day) in conjunction with a healthy diet and some moderate exercise, you will notice results within 8 weeks. You can wear the Slendertone Flex when you just don’t have time in your hectic schedule to hit the gym or go for a run, or wear it during your workout for added emphasis.

1 Star Never worked/a real dud
Totally sucked since it never worked and didn’t have batteries like the box said. Of course it was the last one they had. At least the seller gave me a quick refund but it scares me to buy another one since I do not see too many good reviews about it.

3 Stars Not as effective as expected
I bought this toning system belt based on the review. After 3 weeks of using about 5 times per week at 85- 90 intensity for 60 – 80 minutes each time, I have seen little impact on my stomach size. I will continue to try it for another month.

1 Star very simple compering to what i had before
i had one like that in europe and i was fabulous and thats why i decided to buy this one. unfortunately i am very disapointed . my old one had 6 different tipes of exercises plus timing and volume and this one had only volume and timing but only one program and its not the one i used to do most with my old one. it also bothers me on higher volume in the middle . dont recomend it…for little more you can find a better one on european websites

1 Star Slendertone flex go not effective
Slendertone flex go doesn’t work as expected. No significant results even after using it for 3 weeks.

Sometimes center pad doesn’t function or side pads doesn’t function.

Instead of wasting money on such products it is better to do daily exercise.

5 Stars fanTASTtic gismo!
First of all, let me just say that though the pads are expensive, spraying them with a little bit of water extends the use (mine are like new after 3 months of use). Also, I have been using rechargeable AAA batteries and they only need to be replaced every month.

In the beginning, it took me about a week to build up to the 99 intensity, and towards the lower end I could feel the pulse but wasn’t sure how much it was actually doing. But as soon as I got to 80 and higher, my muscles were sore the next day – the sign of a good workout! Now I use it an hour a day when I go out to walk my dog in the park and it really does work! My core is significantly stronger and more defined. I also don’t feel the need to do ab exercises anymore.

But don’t take this the wrong way – don’t stop doing cardio! If you have a round belly, don’t expect this to be a miracle cure. With the combination of healthy eating and cardio, you WILL certainly be satisfied. (I have lost 4″ off my waist in three months …)

4 Stars Get the combo DVD
Great workout, but you can get this on one DVD with a Rodney Yee Yoga for abs segment and a Patricia Waldron balance ball for abs segment. All are worth having, so you might as well get them for the price of one.

5 Stars Gets The Abs
I have been doing Pilates about a year and a half or so, so I am not quite sure exactly what level I am, but have been practicing pretty consistently and getting better at it. I really like Ana’s DVDs so I wanted to try this one. Even though it is challenging it is very worthwhile to do and OI am able to do alot of it.

There are some harder variations on some Pilates moves that target your abs alot and you feel the moves. The modifications for some of the movements are a big help. If you have done some Pilates and are feeling comfortable with it, this DVD is very worthwhile for the Ab work. If not get one or two of Ana’s other DVDs before you try this one of hers.

4 Stars Fantastic
This is a terrific workout and worth purchasing!! In 25 minutes, Ana will give you an amazing workout.

There are a few exercises I am not yet strong enough to do. But Tara demonstrates the modified poses which helps a lot.

All of the abdominal muscles are worked here. Even those ellusive lower abs. The day after I first did the DVD, I was amazed to feel tightness deep in my core.

Great stuff!

2 Stars just an okay workout
This pilates abs video is not really worth getting if you already have a regular pilates workout dvd, it’s about all the same exercises as a regular pilates dvd.

5 Stars Ana Caban is a pilates GODDESS!
This is a VERY challening pilates routine. While Caban doesn’t add any new exercises to target the abs, she does focus on those traditional mat exercises that are the most ab intensive. She also does more reps on some of them. For example, the Series of 5 (which consists of the Single Leg Stretch, Double Leg Stretch, Single Straight Leg Stretch, Double Straight Leg Stretch, and Criss-Cross) is normally done with 5-8 reps per exercise. Caban does 10 (and she does them SLOWLY! particularly the Double Straight Leg Stretch and Criss-Cross). She also does open/closed leg rocker 5 times each (I believe it’s is traditionally done 3 times each). Also, her general pace is slow and often makes you hold your legs in the air between moves while she talks. This slower pace makes even basic moves very challenging. Caban also adds variations on many exercises to make them even more challenging. On top of that, she does all of this with perfect form and a serene facial expression!

There are a few odd choices made, in my opinion. For example, she only does 3 reps of the neck pull (compared to the traditional 5) and 2 of the Spine Twist (instead of the traditional 4). The only exercise I miss (and can’t understand why she omits it) is the Spine Stretch Forward. This move feels SOOOO good (particularly after the series of 5) and does work the abs somewhat. I also think that, for an abs video, she could bump up the teasers a bit. She does three teaser 3s (arms and legs together) and on the last teaser, she adds arm circles. Don’t get me wrong, these are challenging as it is (especially when you go directly into the hip circles), but I love the teasers and would have loved a full set (the traditional advanced method is teaser 1, teaser 2, then teaser 3, 3 reps each).

In the end, this is a great over all core routine. While I wish she had added a few more exercises, what she does offer is still incredibly challenging. I’ve been doing this DVD for months and still finding it difficult and rewarding. You will not be disappointed with this one.

The thought of a 6 pack is possible with revolutionary cream that in short time will reduce love handles and waist size. Works by preventing localized fat deposits by using extracts of Guarana and Bitter Orange, both rich in Hesperetin, which enhances Lipolysis, the breakdown of fat stored in fat cells (don’t worry we had to look it up too). In clinical studies, volunteers applied cream once a day for 28 days after which 86 percent experienced abdominal reduction and some users reduced waist size up to 1.8 inches. Wow. Great for hips, bottom and thighs too.

Whether you’re a casual exerciser, a senior, a fitness enthusiast, or someone facing physical challenges, The Slendertone Flex Abdominal Toning Belt for Men can help you build a stronger core foundation, add variety to your workouts, or enhance your training regimen. The Slendertone Flex system includes the belt, controller with four programs, three AAA batteries, three GelPads, travel pouch, and instruction manual. This belt fits waist sizes 27 to 47 inches.

5 Stars Its okay to make abs stonger
Im using this about a month.

But its good to use cuz it is easy to control

1 Star It never worked, broken.
Item never worked and when I atempted to return item I could not find it in my purchase history on Amazon. It is as if the purchase never occured. I feel that my money was taken and a full refund is in order. I have my receipt, bank statement but Amazon.com will not let me process a refund.

4 Stars Not that Bad
I wasn’t sure About this product the first time I saw it. I was quite skeptical but a month later I saw it again and had the money So I said why not. Well I can tell you this works the hell out of your abs, the intensity level is ridiculous. I went max one day but couldn’t do it the next because it was to much, I had to drop it down by 10. I work out and trying to lose my gut, though I cant see my 6pack yet My abs feel super tight to a point where I could feel the muscle. I’m not an overweight guy So I can still see the lining coming along and feel this product is helping especially while working at my desk, I wear it for 40 mins mid afternoon then When I get out of work I hit the gym. I had it for less than 2 weeks and I do notice a difference. Battery life does suck, after 2 or maybe 3 uses with Duracell batteries, you’ll need new ones. I recommend getting rechargeable ones, it will save you money in the long run. As far for the sticky Pads I’m still using my first issued ones, but after 17 or so uses you can still try to use them if they barley stick or pay 7.00 to get new ones. Just pray that they don’t slip out of place or your in for a painful shock.

5 Stars YES, it works.
Slendertone Gymbody Abs Belt – Mens

I ordered the Slendertone – expecting to be disappointed, but hoping for the best. I am relatively fit (work out 3-4 times a week), but am having trouble losing in belly/hips area. I have used the slendertone belt for only 10 days straight – and can’t believe how I’m seeing definition already – particularly in my upper abs. I was planning on giving it 14 days before judging, but I could see a difference after 5 days. And last time I did weight training, I was actually stronger. I’m now thinking of getting th slendertone shorts. First few days were uncomfortable, but now the electronic shocks don’t bother me – Totally think this is worth it, and can’t wait to see results after a month! Just in time for beach season!!

1 Star Slendertone Men’s Belt
This was supposed to be for a man and I seriously doubt a very petite woman cold wear this belt. I have complained to the seller with No response, nor do I expect one! Slendertone Men’s Belt

The Complete Book of Abs Revised and Expanded Edition

Kurt Brungardt was at the front end of the abdominal obsession. His Abs of Steel video was a bestseller, and the original Complete Book of Abs, published in 1993, was considered the bible of midsection exercises for trainers and fitness enthusiasts. The obsession has only grown since then, manifested by dubious infomercial products, a burgeoning fitness-magazine industry promising readers great abs with almost no investment of time and effort, and (perhaps because of the shortcomings of the first two phenomena) a boom in the demand for legitimate nutritionists and personal trainers. Even Brungardt himself came out with a 1998 book, 3-Minute Abs, to take advantage of the craze.

With all that going on, it seems hard to believe that there’s anything new to say about abdominal exercise. Indeed, this revised version of The Complete Book of Abs doesn’t really try. There is a new prebeginner midsection routine, which leads into the more advanced exercise regimens described in the original book, and a handful of new exercises. But other than that, the expanded sections are in nutrition (several new pages of recipes) and total-body fitness (new photos demonstrating exercises for body parts other than abs).

Still, the original package is a terrific deal: more than 100 exercises, numerous training routines, and lots of basic information about exercise and diet. Each abdominal exercise is rated for difficulty on a scale of 1 to 3 and how risky it is to the lower back. The routines are complete and thoughtfully compiled, and there’s not a bit of advice in the entire book that isn’t scientifically legitimate. That’s why this book–in either edition–remains indispensable for those serious enough about fitness to need information that goes beyond the basics. –Lou Schuler END

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Lots of exercises, but some info is really dated
Ok, the exercises in this book are great. There are a LOT of different exercises for the the different portions of the abs / core area. So I think it’s great for all levels, and also great for people who have some structural or functional weaknesses. i.e., if one exercise is hurting you for some reason, then there are a bunch of other ones that you can try. Another very helpful aspect is that it mentions how much stress each exercise places on your lower back, which is very important for me (I had a herniated disc a few months ago), and I imagine a lot of other people will find this useful as well.

However, the book is pretty dated. I think the last update/revision was in the mid-late 1990s, something like 1995-1997. So some of the information, especially the part that talks about diet and nutrition, is pretty old.

In fact, in one part they actually say ‘There is some evidence to prove that eating six meals a day may actually be better for you.’ I don’t think I need to tell anyone that it’s pretty much a fact by this point that eating several small meals throughout the day is what you should be doing, so when this book said that ‘there is some evidence’, that made me look at the front to see when it was updated, and it said 1996 or something.

So that took a lot of credibility away from the diet and nutrition aspect of the book. I mean, ab exercises probably have not changed that much in the last 10 years, but there have been huge changes and advances in the field of diet and nutrition in the past decade. So it just seems very strange why they have not bothered to update that part of the book. Especially considering that diet is almost more important than exercise when it comes to abs, which is something they mention in the book as well.

3 Stars Great for begginers, OK for intermediate, not great for Advanced
Great book for begginers…I have been working out and eating nutritious for 2 years now, so this book gave me no suprises. Great info on how calories are stored, a few good tips on nutrition here and there. Great ab exersizes, and the 6 month plan to ripped abs is good. Just starting my first day of ab program today. Wish me luck!

5 Stars truely complete and scientific
The book views the subject from every aspect(diet, exercise, attitude, mentality, tricks, boredom alternatives), and in every of these aspects with scientific accuracy. Although 10 year old book i strongly recommend it to every one who want REALLY to trim and develop his abs.

4 Stars the complete book of abs
this book has helped me strengthen my core. i have a bad back and this book was very helpful to not aggravate it while i worked out.

4 Stars By comparing over 10 abs books, I concluded…
I purchased about 10 books from Amazon on abs in order to compare them. This one has quite a bit of information, good lay-out and organization, and is well-written for this type of book. My conclusions on how it compares with the other books follow…

If You Want to Trim Your Waistline: You can’t trim your waistline without losing fat, and you can’t lose fat around your waist without losing it everywhere (focusing on a muscle group like the abdominal muscles doesn’t burn fat in that location, just a little bit of fat from everywhere on the body). So, if you want to trim your waistline, skip the ab workout books and go with a good, proven overall weight loss and fitness book like Bill Phillips’ Body for Life. The Abs Diet is a similar program, but like all the Men’s Health publications, it advertises a 6-week transformation, which is just a little unrealistic. Plan on more like 12-24 weeks to see really noticeable changes if you are fat.

If You Want Sculpted Six-Pack Abs: If you are overweight at all, see above–you can’t get a six pack while you’re overweight, and you can’t lose abdominal fat by doing an ab workout, so go for overall fitness. However, if you are already lean, see below.

If You Want to Strengthen or Build Your Ab Muscles: If you’re trying to improve for work, play, or rehab, you might consider the following books: The Body Sculpting Bible for Abs Deluxe DVD Edition contains decently up-to-date information and tells you exactly what to do and when to do it, based on a six-week fitness course. If you’re looking for a similar book with more information, you can choose from The Complete Book of Abs or The Complete Book of Core Training. The Complete Book of Abs (1998) is a little out of date in terms of its dietary/nutritional recommendations, but it focuses more on exercises that develop the external abdominal muscles (the ones you see in a six-pack), including lots of variations on leg lifts, bicycle motion, and sit-ups. It will also give you more resources for creating your own program, and, if that’s what you want to do, go with this one instead of The Body Sculpting Bible. The Complete Book of Core Training (2006) focuses more on the functional body core, including internal abdominal muscles, legs, etc., and includes more trendy exercises using medicine balls, exercise balls, yoga, etc. A different sort of book is Stronger Abs and Back (1997), which was written before the current fad of selling “core training,” but contains the elements of core training because it gives good functional sports-focused advice. Its dietary recommendations are out of date, but it recommends a 24-week workout plan, which is much more realistic than the 6-week plans advocated by many of the other books.

If You Have Back Pain: See your doctor, and if he prescribes abdominal/core strengthening, see above.

My one-book recommendation: Body for Life.

My two-book recommendation: Body for Life + Stronger Abs and Back.

My three-book recommendation: Body for Life + Stronger Abs and Back + The Complete Book of Abs.

My four-book recommendation: Body for Life + Stronger Abs and Back + The Complete Book of Abs + The Abs Diet.

Hope this helps!!

3 Stars Didn’t seem like a waste at first…
I really enjoyed using the machine so far. However, it already broke! I haven’t even had it a month and it is totally broken. I am looking for a way to get it fixed but it is looking like I’m either going to have to ship it back and wait 6 weeks or buy a new one. What a waste!

5 Stars Easy Workout
I bought this Red XL Exerciser for an easy workout while at home. It is easy to use and easy to put away. I don’t like big workout machines because they take up so much space, but with this you can slide it under the couch or put it in a closet easily. There is a good DVD with the Exerciser and you can just watch that and follow the exercises.

1 Star Cheap junk
I bought this product, and within two days, I heard an odd sound. Turned out most of the ball bearings had come out of the part that makes the unit swivel. I had to take it apart with a hex wrench, put them back on track, and put the thing back together. After about five times of having to do that, I put it in a corner to collect dust. It is now in the landfill. Cheap, cheap, cheap!

1 Star Broke after 15 minutes! Plus the DVD isn’t too good, either.
I’ve never written an Amazon review before, but wanted to send out a warning on this product. I bought this at Kohl’s last night for $43. I made it through the DVD, but didn’t feel anything in my abdominal section after it was over. I can say that it didn’t put any strain on my neck, so it would be good for someone who is limited to what ab workouts they can do because of neck pain.

After I was done, my husband gave it a try. He’s just under 200 pounds (far below the weight limit) and after about 15 minutes into his DVD workout, the seat completely snapped off.

The included DVD isn’t very motivating, either. I returned the whole thing today and will save my money for something better.

At least he & I will have a lifetime of jokes from this experience: “What’s your favorite color?”

1 Star Yikes…
I have this on loan from a pregnant friend who wants to use it after birth to trim her belly. I’m a fairly inactive student who exercises when she remembers, so I am in no way strong abdominally.

I sat down today with the DVD to see how this product works. I have an exercise ball with a dvd as well as a Power 90 series from a decade ago on VHS that I still use on occasion. They both are substantially more motivating than the joke of a video they threw into this product. It is really more of an instructional usage video than a workout, but the host doesn’t even explain what he’s doing and why. During periods of his “workout” he was sweating, stating he was burning, etc…I had the RED on the highest tension and was not feeling a thing! I even went back to adjust the exercises to try to find a “sweet spot” in the movements to target my muscles…no go.

I get much better results from 10 minutes of pilates floor work for my core than with however long this DVD lasted. Even the exercise ball provides better resistance with your own weight for crunches.

Maybe for those who cannot tolerate the range of motion required to work out in other ways will benefit from this product, but as another reviewer mentioned, just use a swivel chair for the same results. I can sit here in my computer chair, hold the desk and turn/curl for the same effect. If you are not physically able to do cardio, spent $14 on an exercise ball and just SIT on it while watching tv. It’s tons cheaper and still works your core.

And save yourself the frustration of even putting this DVD into your player. The most this guy says is “what’s your favorite color?” (it was literally 4 or 5 times) and the two girls in the back mumble apathetically, “red….”

The Abs Diet Workout has been enjoying favorable reactions from many users, and it’s easy to see why, as “host” and fitness trainer Tom Holland has designed a regimen that’s brisk, efficient, thorough, and fun. Disregard the hype that calls it “a way of life” instead of simply a diet or exercise program. On the other hand, Holland’s claim that The Abs Diet Workout will increase metabolism and help lose fat and build muscle is very likely true, assuming one dutifully does the exercises and follows the diet guidelines and menus as directed. The exercise portion offers a brief warmup (running in place, jumping jacks, simulated jump rope), followed by a choice of three abdominal routines; the latter vary in difficulty from beginner to advanced, but all three are designed to work the upper, lower, and oblique abs, as well as the transverse abdominis muscle and the lower back. The “circuit training” portion also has three options, each including squats, lunges, quad and hamstring stretches, pushups, and various exercises for the arms (the use of dumbbells is recommended). Add to that an extensive list of recipes for a diet plan that includes three meals and three snacks per day, and you’ve got pretty much everything you need for a comprehensive program designed to yield noticeable results in a matter of weeks. –Sam Graham

1 Star Abs Diet IMPOSSIBLE Workout
This is my first review and unfortunately it has to be negative. I wasn’t at all pleased with Tom Hollands Ab workout. I don’t believe he knows how to help fat people. I’m 24 and 281 pounds and find his routine to be extremely difficult. I think if you are already in shape and need a little help to tone this is your DVD because he is insightful and knows his stuff. He is also very good on reminding you to breathe. But I still believe he was never fat and will never know how to properly instruct larger people with no ab strength to do his workouts. P.s. The girl Madison in the video is Hot!

5 Stars Great Intro Workout
I love all of these workouts. Great instructor. The music is fun and the setting is very appealing. It is so much fun that you don’t notice how hard your body is working. It is is a good introductory workout that will get results.

4 Stars Great Diet!
This product is slowly changing my life. I committed myself to follow the diet completely and after my first week I truly feel great. The plan is the best when it comes to great tasting food. Never have I enjoyed a plan as much as this one. The workout is relatively simple, straight forward and is complete. We just tried the intermediate section last night. I like it because you stretch in between excerises which means you don’t become sore the next day. I was out of shape and not once have I been uncomfortable the next day. Go for it!

5 Stars the Abs Diet workout DVD
The Abs Diet Workout

I LOVE this DVD. Easy to follow and VERY beneficial.

1 Star watch out
For some reason unbeknownst to me, the beginning workout includes two dumbell workouts that have you bend 90 degrees at the waist(namely the bent-over lat pull and the bent-over tricep extension). In my opinion, these can be potentially dangerous, especially when the trainer barely goes over the proper form needed. I immediately felt strain on my lower back when doing these two exercises. And I don’t think it was because my dumbells were too heavy. I believe these exercises would be better suited for use with a bench.
